Did you know that 1 in 2 Kentucky learners don't have the necessary skills for a successful Kindergarten year? Lyndon Learning's Pre-K program aims to change that. Last year, 93% of our students were considered Kindergarten ready on the day they graduated.
Instead of using endless worksheets and flashcards, Lyndon Learning Childcare uses a carefully planned, scaffolded lesson plan that includes ample play, exploration, and critical thinking skills for the 21st Century learner.
Your child will develop and solve long-term problems through a quarterly Reggio-Emilia inspired project, using the unique Lyndon Learning Curriculum. We hit every milestone on the Kentucky Early Childhood Standards. You can see these on our Monthly Goals and Weekly Scaffolding lesson plans, located on our Parent Engagement board.
At Lyndon Learning Prekindergarten, we aim for every day to be a “big day”! I’d love to meet you and tell you more about our wonderful classroom and other amazing things we do at your tour. We can’t wait to meet you!
We are a new facility ready and excited for you to join our family. We will nurture your child with Love & Learning so that they may embrace their fullest potential!
Pre-Kindergarten Room Enrollment is Available!
My name is Alyssa Weaver and I will have the pleasure of teaching your child as they prepare for school. My background is in Early Childhood Education and STEM Education. More recently, I worked as the Early Childhood Master Educator for the Kentucky Science Center.
I joined Lyndon Learning in May 2017 to take root in my dream of becoming a preschool teacher. I have completed my coursework in Early Childhood and will soon be applying to obtain my Child Development Associate. I have also obtained two early childhood certificates and continue my coursework through regular trainings and research every day.
In addition to preparing for Kindergarten, I aim to foster passionately curious minds. To encourage this, we will complete lots of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) activities and will encourage students to ask questions about the world around them. The early childhood philosophy I most align with is Reggio-Emilia, so as students ask questions I will design activities to help the children discover their own answers and learn as much as they would like to learn about the world.
